The World’s Forgotten Fishes – Moldy Chum

Rivers, lakes, and wetlands are among the many most biodiverse locations on earth. They cowl lower than 1% of the planet’s whole floor, but they’re house to nearly 1 / 4 of all vertebrate species – together with over half of all of the world’s fish species.

It’s a unprecedented truth: 51% of all recognized species of fish dwell in freshwater – 18,075 species. And extra are being found on a regular basis.

However few individuals have any concept of the unimaginable variety that swims beneath the floor of the world’s freshwater ecosystems or how important these undervalued and ignored freshwater fishes are to the well being of individuals and nature around the globe.
